700 hPa streamfunction (thin black contours every 2x10⁶ m² s^-1, negative dashed, positive solid), potential temperature (solid contours every 2^oC, positive red, negative purple), Q_n (arrows in x10^-10 K m^-1 s^-1), and Q_n convergence (arrows in x10^-15 K m^-2 s^-1). Temperature and wind are smoothed using a 9-point local smoother run 80 times.
